Cracking Down on Big Hits? Huge Hit To The NFL...

Cracking Down on Big Hits? Huge Hit To The NFL...

The NFL has been trying to protect the players more and more with an increase of player concussions.  New rules are being enforced that if a player gets a concussion from playing, they are extremely advised to stay out.  If a coach puts a player back in after the injury, the coach could receive a hefty fine.
This weekend players like Dunta Robinson and James Harrison received fines for their tackles.  As seen in the video above, Desean Jackson was laid-out and left with a concussion. The collision was so immense that even CB Dunta Robinson left the game with a concussion.  LB James Harrison commented on the new rules by threatening to retire. He claims that he does not know how to play football this way.
The NFL went as far to defame big hits as to stop selling pictures and videos of big hits to publishers.  Commissioner Goodel is a smart man, but I hope he does realize that slobber knockers are crowd pleasers.  I just hope that the league will stop waving around their big stick and let the players play. Because honestly, whats next? Fines for chest bumping?
This past weekend was all the NFL and Commissioner Goodell needed to be able to bring down their
"No Fun League" gavel. I am all for protecting players, but taking away big hits from football is like taking away touchdown celebrations... Oh wait...

  1. Damn! I don't watch football very often but that tackle was just awesome. How could the NFL ever fine people that tackle this hard? That to me is real entertainment! Fans don't pay to watch players play checkers on the field, they pay to watch them knock each other out! I could watch the video all day and still get the same enjoyment every time!

  2. Did you see Brett Farve get hit in the chin last week? He got hit so bad his second srting QB went in for the first time all season. Who woulda thought Tarvaris Jackson's first pass of the season would be a touchdown completion?
