Week 1
The opening week of NFL football was not a let down. Amazing games such as Arian Fosters record setting day, Houston Texans upset over the Indianapolis Colts, and the Monday Night upset of the kansas City Chiefs over the San Diego Chargers only set the tone for the rest of the season.
Key Games-
-Chiefs beat Chargers- this was a big upset and it is giving the Chiefs a considerable amount of confidence. the Chiefs defense was extremely sharp, shutting down the rookie Matthews.
- Pats run over Bengals- The Cincinnatti Bengals looked terrible. Tom Brady tore apart the defense and Carson Palmer just didn't look good.
Week 2
Week 2 wasn't as exciting as the first week... UNTIL MONDAY NIGHT! The game of the week was the MNF matchup of the Saints against the 49ers. The game came down to a winning field goal at the last second of the game. Heroics from Drew Brees shined as time expired.
Key Games-
-The Dolphins win over the Vikings was a very important game. The goal line stand by the Dolphins shut down Adrian Peterson and locked up 1st place in the division.

Monday Night Predictions! Jets vs. Ravens!!!!
Monday Night Predictions!
Two AFC Powerhouses square off tonight in the Big Apple. The New Meadowlands will host AFC North's Baltimore Ravens in the home of AFC East's New York Jets. I think tonight will be an all out war because neither of these teams can take starting out the season 0-1.
From the side of the Jets, I'm predicting multiple trick plays. Maybe an allusion back to when the Jets faked 4th down punts twice against the Dolphins, last year on "Monday Night." The Ravens might also "pull a rabbit out of the hat" with their newly acquired Pro Bowl WR Anquan Boldin. Not many people know, but Big Q can throw the ball quite well. I will be looking forward to see if Anquan gets the opportunity to throw the ball, say off a screen.
What to pay attention to: The Jets Defense: With the acquisition of Antonio Cromartie, the Jets defense becomes an archipelago, chain of islands. This is alluding to Pro Bowler Darrelle Revis' nickname, Revis Island. What you should watch for is the Ravens testing Revis. QB Joe Flacco will be testing Revis more than ever because the Jets defense got even stronger. See, last year QB's could avoid Revis because there wasn't another lock down corner on the other side. Also, look for Rex Ryans defense to go after Flacco because everyone knows Rex Ryan has a bunch of crazy blitzing schemes.
What to pay attention to: Ray Rice: My sleeper for this year's MVP is the not so little guy from Rutgers. Ray Rice will be getting the ball between the tackles, outside the tackles, on pitches, on sweeps, on passes, on screens. This guy will be getting the ball everywhere. Why??? Because he is dangerous with the ball no matter where he is on the field. Even though, the Monster, Kris Jenkins is back for the Jets, look for Ray Rice to have a COLOSSAL game.
Game's Sleeper Pick: For this game's under the radar snoozer, I'm selecting Jets TE Dustin Keller. As the relationship between QB Mark Sanchez and Keller grows, Sanchez has been looking for Keller more and more often. I think Keller will be a huge part of the Jets success tonight. I think he could have somewhere around 6 catches for 80 yards and 2 TD's.... No, I'm not crazy, I'm bold.
Prediction: Even though the Dolphin fan in me is screaming "NO!," I predict that the New York Jets will win 24-23 in a heart-breaker. This also means that the Ravens would cover the betting spread of -2.5 points.

AFC North Projections!!!
AFC North
10-6
Baltimore Ravens- The Ravens are looking very good with the addition of Anquan Boldin and T.J. Houshmanzadeh. I predict that Flacco will have a huge year. Third year HB Ray Rice is in my candidates for this season's MVP. Ray Rice is nothing short of exciting. He is dangerous when he is handed the ball off, and he can kill defenses catching the ball. Ray Lewis still leads the tough, hard-nosed Ravens defense. A huge loss for 6 games is the injury to ProBowl Safety Ed Reed.
Prediction: With their schedule being so tough I say that the Ravens go 10-6 and make the Playoffs with the Wildcard.
11-5
Cincinnati Bengals- The Carson Palmer led Bengals jumped out to win the division last year. Their defense was astonishing. Getting Antwan Odom back will help even more to this defense. The addition of T.O. gives Palmer an additional threat on offense. HB Cedric Benson might have an even bigger year this year because the defense will have to play against the stars at WR. Benson will be finding running holes and break out for HUGE gains this season. Also, watch out for Rookie Tight End Jermaine Gresham to have an All-star year.
Prediction: I just don't see how a team can stop these "cats." I say the Bengals win the AFC North and go 11-5.
8-8
Pittsburgh Steelers- I am making a huge call saying that the Steelers only go 8-8. Although HB Rashard Mendenhall is looking like he's going to have a break-out year and WR Mike Wallace seems to be coming into form, I believe the Steelers will have problems matching up on defense with the other star studded receiving cores in the AFC North. The offseason issues with QB Ben Roethlisberger led his 4 game suspension. He didn't even get voted by his teammates to be a Captain. I just don't see the Steelers being a contender with the ball not in "BIG BEN'S" hands.
Prediction: The Steelers will miss the Playoffs this season and go 8-8.
3-13
Cleveland Browns- Theres really not much good to say about the Browns. The only star on the entire team, Joshua Cribbs, is only a threat during a kickoff return. Cribbs is the No. 2 WR, and the kickoff return specialist. The Browns defense is horrendous. Their schedule is extremely tough facing the elite AFC North teams. The Browns might not even 3 games this season. Im putting 3 big W's in the hands of Joshua Cribbs because I know Jake Delhome won't win games for Cleveland and the Rookie sensation HB Montario Hardesty is out for the whole season with an injury.
Prediction: The Browns will continue their streak of poor seasons and go 3-13.

The NFL Offseason
After the 2009 NFL season ended with the New Orleans Saints holding up the Lombardi Trophy, NFL General Managers began the hunt to land big free agent signings. February 27 marked the day that free agency and team trading began. Many teams needed to fulfill position requirements, and many big name players' contracts were up. Listed below are the biggest free agent signings this offseason:
Anquan Boldin- WR- Baltimore A+
Karlos Dansby -MLB- Miami A
T.J. Houshmanzadeh-WR- Baltimore- B
Brandon Marshal- WR- Miami A+
Terrel Owens-WR- Cincinatti B-
Darrele Revis-CB-New York A+
Antonio Cromartie- CB- New York- B+
The most influential signing is definitely the return of the 40 year old great, Brett Farve. Without Farve, Minnesota would be in deep trouble.
